If you want to play Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee online then you are going to have to set up a Nintendo paid online service. That’s right, features like trading with friends online or engaging in online Pokemon battles won’t come free.
Online play has become rather traditional for Nintendo games. The upcoming Pokemon Lets Go games are not an acceptation to the popular mode. Nintendo is offering a premium service and rumors have been circling about whether or not players will need to pay extra to get into the Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Pokemon Lets Go Eevee online services. Now, the Nintendo Company, confirms that the premium services required to access this area of the games.
How Nintendo Paid Online Service Works with Lets Go Games
With the confirmation of the paid service requirement, we also learn a little bit more about what you are actually paying for. The Nintendo paid online service is relatively new and not uncommon in the gaming industry although it might seem slightly dated.
Battling and trading over the internet or locally is available in the games but it is simplified compared to other titles. The games will not feature the popular GTS, Wonder Trade or Battles Spot. More details on how trading and battling work on the games will release soon. All we know is that they plan on integrating the Nintendo paid online service which begins September of this year.
Lucky for all of you Nintendo fans out there, the paid online service doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You can hop on the premium service for just $4 for one month, $8 for 3 or $20 for the entire year. They even offer the affordable family plan for $55 a year for 8 profiles to share a single membership. Members have access to a library of classic NES games with titles being added regularly.
Get your game on with Pokemon Lets GO Pikachu or Pokemon Lets Go Eevee on November 16th.
